Grace's Sleepover

A couple nights ago, I invited Grace to come spend the night. I had been wanting to go see Judy Moody and I knew that she would probably go with me. Jen dropped her off just before dinner. She helped make a fruit salad but was struggling to put the oranges in the bowl instead of her tummy. After the fruit salad was made Josh came home and we had dinner. She helped clean up and then asked about the brownies I told her she could make. I sat down and she got all the ingredients out. She pretty much made the whole thing. She even cracked the eggs with out getting any shells in. I put it in the oven and we headed upstairs to Paisley's room. I had a couple things that needed put away and she was more than willing to help. She unpacked a box of diapers and placed them on the shelves. She took some toys out of the bag and ripped all the tags off and put them in the bins downstairs. Then she had fun just going through her drawers. She would look at each outfit and "oooooo" and "awwww" as she held them up. She then took all her shoes out of the basket and arranged them in order of size. Our brownies beeped just as she finished. We ate brownies, cleaned up the dishes and crumbs on the floor, then got in our pajamas. As we sat down to put in Toy Story 3 she informed me that I was a clean freak haha! I was always cleaning she said. I just thought I cleaned as I made the mess ;) We watched Toy Story 3 until Josh got home from the gym and then we all headed to bed. Grace wanted to sleep on the floor in Paisley's room. She kept saying she wishes that she was here to sleep in the crib next to her. I reassured her that I do too!

The next morning we woke up and made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We watch tv for a little bit and then got ready for the day. Grace browsed my closet for clothes that she was interested in and then informed me that when I decide to get rid of them to just give them to her. I decided that I need her here every morning. I put on my new outfit I got and she said, "you just look too cute in that!" Its amazing that an 8 year old comment can make you feel good! After we were ready we headed to the bank and then to meet my mom and cousin at the movies. The movie was fun I thought. Nothing that Josh and I would go see by ourselves but cute enough to sit through with Grace. After we stopped by the house for lunch and to grab her bags, then off to Purple Penguin we went. It was my first time but Grace was a regular. Her favorite flavor was not on the board but when she asked they still had it. It was really good. The ice was really different. Nothing like a regular snow cone. We stood outside there and ate before we headed back to take her home.

I always cherish the conversations that Grace and I have when she spends the night. This time we talked about which hurt more, having a baby out of your private or out of your stomach. Then about an epidural if it actually when into your bones or not. The day that she asks where babies come from is the day that I suddenly don't know anything and suggest that her mom might know lol!! We talked about how you get a Mother in Law and if she is going to have one someday. The conversations are priceless with her. I just love it!! Here are some pictures from her sleepover...
