What A GREAT Day!!! ---7.24.09

On 7.24.09...
---i had a client in the morning
---tauni came over to pick me up for our girls day we had been planning
---went to our 11:30am pedicure appointment
can you guess whos are whos??
---went to burger king for lunch and won a free cheeseburger playing their little game---went looking at the houses that we had put offers in on
---made it to all 5 of which 2 had the back door open and was able to go inside
---got a call from angela, the realtor, stated that one more offer had been accepted that made 2
out of the 5.
---talked to josh about 5 minutes after talking to her and our #1 house we really like was
accepted as well
---josh immediately left work so we could meet ang to look at the 2 accepted today again
---we brought along jared, a friend, tauni, and chris for their opinion
---after looking at both again we all decided that our original #1 was probably it
---it took about 5 minutes after leaving that our #1 pick is going to be our first house

(the view from our house)
---reality hit fast going to tell our parents and seeing how excited they were
---called ang to have her meet us again just to let us in so we could show my parents and joshs
mom and his brothers and sister
---the kids were way excited for us, they couldnt believe that it was actually our house
---grace was the first one to ask to stay the night
---after soaking it up a little we went to red robin with my parents to celebrate
---ran home to change
---josh and jared came to pick me up to go to stoneys
---met nicole and eric there too
---had a blast listening to the concert they had going for a little bit while we played some pool
---did some line dancing and some 2 step and some hip hop...even michael jackson, i must say
jared does a great michael jackson impersonation
---we purposely left the back to open to the house so we drove there after stoneys to show eric
and nicole, we just wanted to stay the night!!
---in the end it was a GREAT day

Work... to Wedding... to House Hunting... to Life

It has been crazy busy around here lately from work to wedding to house hunting to life...

WORK
**have started doing gel nails. did my 1st set since i was in school on saturday. could use a couple practice runs and then i'll be good to go!!
**have pre-booked all my clients in advance so i can make plans around that. it is good to see that i have every saturday booked with hair in august. if i could be booked with a few clients 4 days a week that would be ideal.

WEDDING
**took the engagement pictures finally. 3 1/2 hours later we finished. quite the photo shoot. we picked out the ones we liked the best.
**will be meeting with the DJ within the next week to finalize more details. we had to cancel once because it has been so crazy we haven't had time to do our "homework".
**my shoes came in. i need to still call and make the alteration appointment. who knows when i will do that.
**booked our flights for our honeymoon. cant wait any longer for that!!
**we registered for our wedding at target. josh had a lot of fun with the scanner. its kind of hard to register for somethings not knowing what your house is going to look like.
**my mom, my maid of honor, and jen have started planning a bridal shower. it is going to be super cute. i cant wait to see what they have put together.

HOUSE HUNTING
**have been looking on line at houses for a few weeks now. we actually went on friday for the first time with the realtor. looked at about 15 houses that day. very hot outside that day but worth the sweat because we found 4 we liked.
**wrote up the 4 offers and they were put in today. we already were beat out of one due to a all cash paying offer. still waiting from the other 3 offers. hoping to hear some
**we are going to try to go out tomorrow night or wednesday with the realtor again. hopefully we will find a couple more things. if we put in a couple offers a week we are bound to get something.

LIFE
**celebrated my sisters birthday with a luau themed party. had all the family over and some of her close friends.
**we have discovered that july is the biggest months for birthdays for our immediate family. josh's mom, my dad, josh's sister, josh's brother, and my sister all in one month. lots and lots of gifts and parties.
**had dinner at chris and tauni's. we had homemade pizza and some wings. we waxed and dyed our eyebrows while the guys took naps. one of these days tauni and i will have to take some pictures of our brows during the whole process for some good laughs.
**our friend mike from high school got married a couple weekends ago. josh was part of his wedding party. its kind of weird to see our friends getting married. it hasn't really set in all the way that we will be married in a couple months too!

Over the 4th of July Weekend...

**Friday...took Aunt Laurie out of her assisted living home (AKA her condo) for a little day date. Josh and I took her to Cadillac Ranch for lunch and the we went to see The Proposal. What a cute movie that was! I want to go to Alaska now. A cruise up there would be nice. After we drove through a few neighborhoods to see what they were all about. Came home and took a nap. Woke up in enough time to freshen up and to go to a Comedy Show. Once again a very very funny show.
**Saturday...had a client in the morning. Cleaned my room in detail. Went and got a pedicure. Ran to the mall to get my ring cleaned. It has only been a few months but we were going to try to do our pictures the next day and I felt like it wasn't clean enough. Went to Josh's for a 4th of July BBQ with the family. Had yummy cupcakes and made up cool designs and games with the glow sticks.
**Sunday...went to church. Came home and got all my clothes together for pictures along with all the props. Went to Josh's for him to change and pick up our photographer and more props. A little bit bigger props this time. Drove a hour thinking it is finally going to happen after this being the 3rd time trying to get this going but...there was a huge sign on the land that stated: "CLOSED. Please do not stop. This is our home. Will open at 8:00am. Very bummed we drove an hour back home. Got in trouble by Dave for taking the couch. Opps! Went to the grocery store. Ate at Applebees. Came home and visited my family who had been in California all weekend. Lucky them!!

The Michael Jackson Memorial
The house that Michael lived in when he lived here in town has been vacant for years. It is on Rancho and Palomino. I didn't even know he lived here at one point and didn't know that the house was literally across the street from my work. I saw on the news the memorial that has formed outside of the house so a girl from work and I went over there on our lunch. There were quite a bit of people there, there were security guards, there newspaper photographers, there were reports, and to my surprise, a collection of old antique cars that had been abandoned by someone. Some were covered and some weren't, but you can tell by some of the keep up of the outside that no one lives there. My thought though is if these expensive cars are here abandoned what is the house?? Any way there was a lot of things laid out in front of the house in memory and it was kind of neat to be a part of that and to see it. I took a couple pictures with my phone...

I also had recorded the funeral that day and watched it when I got home. I watched it start to finish. There were some pretty amazing things said and great speakers and singers. His brothers, sisters, and daughter were all so sad. I felt for them. I know that a lot of things have been said about him and he was a little strange, but I don't think that he did most of the things that he was accused of. As much as the world respects him and the things that each person had to say at the service it is hard to believe that he was what the media made him out to be.

This post is a little off the top. I tend to get a little obsessed when something like this happens. For those of you who know me well know that I am the same way with a couple other events/subjects. Ha Ha!
