For my sisters birthday I took her to Disneyland for the day. I was a little nervous because this was the first time that I was actually an adult figure so to say. Usually if I go out of town my parents are with me or Josh is. I have never had to drive all the way on the trip before. I was very thankful that Jen let me borrow her GPS because there was 2 time were we almost got on the wrong freeway or didn't exit. We had such a great time and I would probably do it again but I would only drive if I had to. This is how the trip played out...
Left Vegas at 5:00am...
Stopped in Baker for breakfast and gas...
Arrived at Disneyland at 9:30am...
Waited in a huge line for tickets...
Went to City Hall to get her birthday pin...
Her pin said that she was turning 14 years old and no one could believe it because of how tall she was. I could not get over how many time she was told Happy Birthday and not just that but how many people were there with the same birthday. As you grow up you always know it as "my" birthday and until you see how many others you share that with it's kind of weird.
Attempted to ride Space Mountain and Indiana Jones...
Both broke down after waiting in line for 15 minutes each. We were up at the front in both. We were given a fast pass for Indiana Jones since it was her birthday and then since it broke we got a fast pass to any ride we chose. Needless to say our 1st hour at Disneyland...wasted.
Finally got on a ride...
Our first ride was Pirates of the Caribbean
Rode some more rides...
This is us waiting in line for Thunder Mountain. We didn't wait in line for more than 15 minutes all day. It was not busy at all.
Found out we missed the Grand Opening of It's A Small World by a few days...
It opens February 2009. We went by though to check out the new boats. Took me back a few years as I remembered it when I was little.
Ate lunch in Tomorrowland...
Went and visited the "New" Pixie Hollow...
This was adorable. I guess it is based off of Tinkerbell's movie Pixie Hollow. I didn't know of the movie until then. You get to meet Tinkerbell and her friends in there little grassland.
You can actually go inside the castle now. They have set it up where it tells the story of Sleeping Beauty as you make your way through. Very very neat. I was just excited to walk
through the castle.
Sat and relaxed for about a 1/2 hour because our feet were hurting and we were tired...
Waited for Tarin to go on Star Tours...
I have had bad experiences on that ride and get really bad motion sickness on that ride so I
made her go by herself.
We went to Downtown Disney for dinner...
We ate at the Jazz Kitchen. I experience Benjiets (ben-yays). I pretty sure that's how it's spelled. They are like a square donut covered in powdered sugar. They are sooo good. Also
went through the Disney store so I could take some pictures of her in the birthday hat. She was so embarrassed.
$30 on a shirt.
Went back to Disneyland attempting to ride a ride...
California Adventure had just closed and Disneyland was packed. No fast passes available on
any ride. Wait time on the good rides were 70 minutes or more. We resulted to Pirates of the
Caribbean having to still wait 25 minutes for that.
Decided to go shopping for a little bit...
Bought a delicious carmel apple and some lollipops for her friends.
Went and claimed a spot for the Fantasmic water show to start...
This was the first time that either of us had seen it. I loved it. We both were just amazed by how the films were projected on the water. We both were bummed that there was no firework show that night. It is only showed on Saturday nights now.
After the show it was 10:00pm and Disneyland closed...
We went to the hotel...
I pricelined a room for us and ended up at the Anaheim Hilton. We were both ready for bed by this point. I had to take a few pictures though because I loved the hardware in the room. This was the sink and I want this one day in my house.
nice to have as well.
Slept for 11 hours and well deserved...
Packed up and headed home...
We made it home by 3:00 in just enough time to go to a Bridal Shower for my friend...
It was the first one I had been to. It was kind of weird since it was actually for one of my
childhood friends.
Came home showered...
Got ready for her actual party...
At 6:00 everyone was here...
We ate pizza, opened presents, ate brownies, watched P.S I Love You...
Called it a night...
The trip was a blast and it's never an understatement that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth!! Happy 14th Birthday Tarin.
