Babymoon

Last weekend Josh and I took a quick trip to Phoenix for one last getaway before we become parents. We had a great time! It was definitely a needed vacation for the 2 of us. Our vacation was full of rest and relaxation. It doesn't get better than that.

On Friday we were on the road at 7am. A quick stop at the gas station to fill up and get water then off to our next stop... Cracker Barrel in Kingman. We stopped for breakfast and enjoyed every bite. After walking around the store a little bit, we got back on the road. After another hour or so we had to stop again in Wickenburg for some pregnant lady to use the bathroom and walk around :) We put the hotel address in the GPS and we were on our way. Next stop... the hotel! When we arrived I looked at the hotel in awww. It was beautiful. We didn't waste anytime. About 20 minutes later we were down at the pool. The pool was one of the best parts of the trip. It had 2 huge pools, a lazy river, and a water slide. If I wasn't pregnant I'm pretty sure I would have gone down the slide. They had double rafts for us to use so we spent most of our time on the tube in the river going round and round. We ate lunch out by the pool and laid around until we were tired of the sun. Got back to the room and compared tan lines. Who would have thought... Josh was so dark and I was STILL perfectly white not even red haha! We got ready and then headed across the street to a place that was similar to Town Square here. Restaurants, Movie Theaters, and Shops. Nice of them to have misters on through out the place. Town Square needs to invest in some of those. After walking around a bit, we ended up going to Dave and Busters for dinner. It was so delicious. We didn't play any games because we were so drained from the drive and the sun. One quick stop to Target to get Josh a belt and then back to the hotel we went. It was 7:45 and we were both in bed. I'm pretty sure we were both asleep by 8:30. I guess we are getting old haha!

the fabulous pool at the resort
Saturday was filled with lots of fun stuff. Josh woke up early and headed down to the gym. I got ready and went down to Starbucks instead to get us some breakfast. We met back up in the room, he got ready, and to the golf course we went. It was supposed to be 102 degrees this day but there was a breeze and the weather was perfect. We ended up playing with 2 other guys. (lets clarify I didn't actually play. I just rode along) When I go with him, we prefer it just to be us 2 because I keep score, pull the pin, and get out to watch the tee off. With other people, I feel like I am in the way a little bit. So I more so just hang out in the cart and got out to watch them on the green from a far.We still enjoyed our round together. Unfortunately we were stuck behind a group that was way too slow and we were 2 holes shy of finishing the round before we had to leave for our spa appointments. We left early and ran up to the room to get a change of clothes for Josh and to order lunch at the spa so it would be ready when we got there. The walk was so long to anywhere you went around there because it was so big. We finally made it to the spa, picked up our lunches, and checked in. The host took Josh one way and me another to the locker rooms. Our massages were first then our pedicures. When we finally got back together for our pedicures we found out that both of our massages were not good :( It was a total waste of our money. We enjoyed our pedicures though. Our feet looked great after!! After we were done we headed back up to the room. Got ready for the night and headed back across the street. We went to this brewery for dinner. The food there was really good. Too good actually haha! We headed to the theaters after that to see what was playing. Hangover 2 was starting just in time. We ended up seeing that and thought it was pretty good. It was better than what everyone told us we thought. Since we already walked around there the night before we headed back to the hotel and went down by pool. There was a live band playing and we found us some chairs and enjoyed relaxing, talking, and listening to the music. I think this is one of favorite things to do at night on vacation. It seems we always find something like this to do no matter where we are. After a while we headed back to the room and once again were out by 9:30.

Our finished toes!!
Sunday was a sad day :( It was time to leave. We got up, got ready, packed up, and headed across the street for breakfast. The only place open for breakfast was Mimi's Cafe so that is where we went. After breakfast we were on the road. We stopped our Dr requested every 2 hour stops and then one last stop at Pit Stop in Boulder City. I love their hamburgers there. It was Josh's first time and I don't know how impressed he was. After lunch we headed home!!
Our trip was quick but great! I enjoyed every minute of it. The resort was beautiful and the pool was relaxing. I think we will definitely be going back some day. I am so thankful for my husband and the effort he puts into making trips for us so great!! He is the best!! Now that our baby moon is over... it is time to have this BABY!! We couldn't be more ready :)

My Baby Shower

Last weekend was my baby shower. It turned out great! My sisters and mom did a great job picking out everything. The theme was "Ready to Pop" All the food there was associated with POP. There was a POPcorn bar, cakePOPs, cornPOPs, POPtarts, lolliPOPs, and sodaPOP to anchor the balloon bouquets. The party favors were otterPOPs which also went awesome with the theme. Josh's Aunt Jamie designed the invitation for them and all the tags for the food and party favors. It was held at the church Josh's parents go to. There was lots of family and lots of friends there. All of her Aunts (minus Aunt Tauni), Grandmas, Great Grandmas, and Great Great Grandmas were there. I am so lucky to have all of these great women in my life and know that the ones that weren't there with us were looking down on us. :) I made sure to get pictures taken at the shower with them all! A little fun fact for you...Paisley is the first of a new generation on both sides of the family. I am very excited for her and our families!!! Paisley got a bunch of great gift and way too many clothes. Poor girl is going to be wearing a new outfit every time she gets a diaper change. Is she really a poor girl?!? Any girl would love to have that many clothes right? We played a POP trivia quiz and a bingo game. I think everyone like the POP trivia game the best! It was fun and Kalah did a good job of picking questions from a variety of eras. It was a great day and a very memorable day too! I can't wait to put all these fun things to use.

Randomness

*San Genaro Feast: Josh and I went with Ryan and Sabrina a few weeks ago. We mainly went just for the food. I of course couldn't and wouldn't have rode any of the ride but they were all too full to ride anyway. The boys played a couple of the carnival games. Neither won anything.
*Baby Paisley: She is growing like a weed. Making her mommy really uncomfortable is her first priority I am pretty sure. She will hopefully be making her debut as scheduled which is only 11 weeks away now. I can't believe that I may actually make it through this haha.
*Five Guys: We tried Five Guys last week. I was a fan and I am pretty sure Josh was too. I want to try the Cajun fries the next time I go. I also will know how to just order a single patty and not a double!!
*Birthing Class: On June 4th, Josh and I will be attending our birthing class to prepare for this exciting labor everyone talks about. I am glad just to kind of get a heads up of what to expect. Josh on the other hand I think would rather go in blind instead of having to know what will actually be happening to me haha.
*Baby Moon: Josh and I had talked about taking a baby moon (a last vacation as a couple before our little girl arrives) and about the time we wanted to go but no official plans were made. Josh did surprise me a couple days ago by putting the events in my calendar. I just happened to be going through it and realized I have a massage, a pedicure, a round of golf, and a whole trip to Phoenix planned. I cannot wait!! I love vacations with just him and I . We turn our phones off and just go with the flow!!
*Bridesmaids: We went to see Bridesmaids with Jeff and Amber. It had been forever since Josh and I saw a movie together. We met them at Town Square for ice cream before the movie. Us girls chatted baby talk while the guys chatted about who knows what haha. The movie was good. It wasn't the best movie I have seen but I didn't feel like I wasted my money.
*Baby Shower: My baby shower is coming up and I am excited to see all Paisleys cute little things she will get. I just hope I have enough room for everything :)
*Mason's Birthday: We celebrated Mason's birthday by having a pool party at Josh's parents house. Mason had asked us for a specific toy that all the boys are into now. I had no idea what the heck it was but Josh had heard of it. We go to pick up that exact on but couldn't find it so we ended up getting him a couple that we hoped he didn't have already. This kid must have got 20 blades for his birthday. It was just nuts!! Come to find out the one he wanted us to buy him was only available in Japan. Who would have thought?!?!

Emily's Communion

Our family friend, Emily had her first communion last weekend. I did a trial run on her hair and took her pictures a few weeks before. It was so much easier to do her hair for the actual communion because I knew exactly how I wanted it. I was excited that it turned out just perfect and lasted her the whole day. She looked beautiful and enjoyed every minute of her big day. It is crazy to think that my mom used to watch Miss Emily when she was just born. Time goes by so fast.

Tarin's Makeover

My little sister Tarin has been asking for about a year now for me to dye her hair. I have been very strong in telling her no but last week I caved. She wanted to be brown so that is what she got...

Ice Cream Fesitval

Last weekend, my Aunt LeAnn and I took her twins to the Ice Cream Festival out at the Springs Preserve. We got out there when it first opened. Good thing because it got hotter as the day went on and the lines for ice cream got longer plus we actually got to park at the Springs Preserve versus the Meadows Mall across the street. It was all you could eat ice cream. We all made our own sundaes. The kids had popsicles and LeAnn had a root beer float. They had carnival games that were free for the kids to play. There was a band playing, food stands, and a few vendors. It was put together really well. That was my first visit to the Springs Preserve and it was huge. A lot of places to walk and lots of things to see. It makes me want to go for their holiday events they put on there. All in all the kids had a great time and LeAnn and I were worn out by the end. It was fun!!

Mother's Day

We had a great Mother's Day this year. We were able to spend it with both of our Moms. This year meant a little bit more to me considering I am a mother to be this year. It is weird how it somethings just make it seem that much more of a reality (not like the belly isn't enough haha). Mother's Day was one of those moments. I woke up thinking about how I actually felt like a Mommy for the first time. Paisley may not be here yet but I still am taking care of her daily and how I sacrificed things for her from the get go and didn't think twice about it. I got a couple presents that I just loved including a Willow figurine of a pregnant woman. I couldn't help but to keep thinking how next year she will be right here with us!!
Here are some pictures we took at my Moms house. We were only missing Aunt Tami.

This is the Willow figurine I got.
