Grace's Sleepover Last weekend Grace had her first sleepover at our house. I arrived at 6pm to pick her up and from what I heard she had been packed since 6am. I pulled up and she was already out the door with suitcase in hand. We had to go back and wait for her to put a few more things in there that she forgot. She had made a list the night before of everything she needed to bring. Jen, my mother in law, said that food was on her list. Was she worried that Josh and I weren't going to feed her? Jen reassured her though that she didn't need to bring any food. After the bag was officially packed we were off. And this is how it went...(im including the car rides because she and I had some pretty funny conversations)
1st: Went to my moms pampered chef party while we waited for Josh to get off of work. I was so glad that my cousin came because her and Grace were able to play. Grace calls her "my friend from your bridal shower."
2nd: Left and drove to dinner. Grace: "What time is it?" Me: "7:45" Grace: "Umm...my bed time is in 15minutes." Me: "Thats ok when youre at our house you don't have a bed time" Grace: "Really? ooooooookay!" Next convo...Me:"Where do you want to sleep? the office, downstairs, on our floor?" Grace: "The office is good...wait does it have a TV? I need to sleep somewhere with a TV." Me: "Yes it does." Grace: "Ok then that is where I'll sleep"
3rd:Met Josh at Red Robin. That was the restaurant of Grace's choice. She knew what she was getting before we got there. Mac 'n' Cheese. To make sure she was for sure she circled it on her menu for us. We ate dessert there too. A Chocolate Milk Shake.
4th: Headed to our house. Grace tells me she is getting tired and is ready for bed. I'm thinking oh this was easy. She starts dozing in the car.
5th: Arrive home. She goes into the bathroom right when we get in the house and gets in her PJs. She comes out and I told her I was going to get in mine. By the time I was done, she was on the futon in the office under the blanket. I came out and she requested the disney channel. She lays there and watches a full episode of Zack and Cody and Josh and I are on the computer. She was going to sleep.
6th: She changed her mind...she wasn't tried. She wanted to paint her nails now. So...we were painting nails at 10pm. Pink with white and blue flowers is what she chose. She must have wore her self out blowing on them until they were dry because she passed out on the couch.
7th: Josh and I debated whether to leave her down there or not. He decided to. We put a blanket on her and left on the TV just like she had requested. We went to bed
8th: Josh got up for work and woke her up with all of his noise he makes. She came in and got in bed with me and we watched some TV. For breakfast Grace chose pancakes. We go downstairs to find out we have no milk.
9th: We got dressed for the day. Went to the store got milk. Came home and started our pancakes. She help me make them and she wanted to make sure she ate the biggest one. She would count down the minutes until 8:30 because that is when I told her we were leaving for my sisters softball game.
10th: 8:30 it was and we were in the car. I get a phone call that my sister isn't playing in this game but may play at 12pm. Soo...I couldn't take her home at 8:30 so I decided we were meeting my cousins at the St Patricks Day parade. She needed a green shirt though so to Target we went. On the way to Target this was the convo we had...Grace: "I like your wedding ring." Me: "Thanks" Grace: "Why is there 2?" I explain the difference between both. Grace: "Why doesn't Josh wear his?" Me: "He says it hurts his finger." Grace: "It doesn't hurt my dad" Me: "Yeah, I don't know." Grace: "Well that is very rude of him" The next convo...Grace: "So will I need to buy a ring for my husband when I get married?" Me:"yes" Grace:"How do I know which one to get?" Me: "The guy will know which one he likes" Grace: "Well I have a little while, Jacob has to get married for first, then Mason, and then me" I agree. Grace: "Actually I may get married before Mason because Mason is just how he is" I couldnt help but to laugh or to believe I was actually having the conversation with her.
11th: At Target. She wanted a green headband. I told her I would buy her a shirt so that she could wear it to school for St Pattys Day. She insisted on a headband. After seeing them though she didn't like any so to the clothes we went. It was love at first site with her at this fancy green shirt. She wasn't giving that up. We purchased it and headed to the car.
12th: On the way to the car...Grace: "So how will I change this shirt with out you watching?" Me: "Just change in the backseat and I wont look" Grace: "You have a mirror though" Me: "Grace...I wont look I promise just go in the back seat and change."
13th: Made it to the parade. It took forever to get a parking spot. We were saving spots for 7 people. It was so hard. Especially because there were dogs there and Grace doesn't do dogs. I was giving up on saving a spot because these dogs and her were too much. I explained they were on a leash but she didn't care. I couldn't help to laugh when she stared screaming over a wiener dog. Just because those move soooo slow and they aren't jumping on any one. Finally everyone shows up and the parade starts.
14th: We left early to head to Tarins game. Grace: "Now where are we going?" Me: "Tarins game and then I am taking you home" Grace: "What kind of game?" Me: "Softball" Grace: "Awburn, I don't do ball games." Me: "Well this is a very short game compared to Jakes." Grace: "Ok I just hate ball games. The play each other 9 times in the same night. Why can't we just play once?" I laugh. Grace:"Its ok though I'll go for you. It may not be fun though." Get a phone call, the game isn't until 1 know. Me: "Grace the game time is change so I'm just going to take you home now" Grace: "Ok well that worked out good." By the time we were to her house, she was out!!
15th: Get to her house. Mason is outside. Comes and opens the door for her. Mason: "This girl is always falling asleep." Got her up. Grace: "I am so tired. Josh woke me up way too early with all of his noise making." Got princess in side. THE END!
We had a fun time with Grace. I had more fun laughing at all these conversations I had with her. It is the boys turn next. One at a time! Its Joshs turn though to entertain because we all know I know nothing about boy stuff.
