Some Good Ol' Halloween Fun
Last night, we had a little get together at our house for some pizza, pumpkin carving, and costume sneak peak with some good friends. Ryan and Sabrina were over. Ryan is practically my brother so he never misses holidays with us and Sabrina is his girlfriend. The Cook family also came over. I'm sure everyone knows who they are by now. The 2 cute little girls that are always on my blog they are the Cooks. They were 1st time pumpkin carvers. Both didn't want much to do with the guts unless it was on a scooper and they had the clean handle. So Ryan and I decided to act more our shoe size than our age and make this kind of into a mini Halloween party so....We dressed up!! I know it is a little weird, but it was a fun.from left to right:
Ryan- a Trojan, Me- Sarah Palin, Camdyn- a unicorn
Sabrina- a Nurse, Tarin- a baseball player, Kylie- a princess
All of us started to carve pumpkins but some how I was the only one left carving all 3 pumpkins. I didn't mind though. I really like doing it. Here is the out come:
A witch on her broom
A clown (it kind of looks like a dog)A old man

Our mini Halloween party was a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves . I think I like Halloween only because it means...Tis' the Season because Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming.

A Night @ the Drive-Ins
Last night I went with my mom and sister to the drive-ins to see High School Musical 3. I have been looking forward to this movie since I heard it was coming out. I swear I am 21 years old but for some reason I act like a little kid when I watch these movies. I was a big choir nerd in high school and I think that is why. The whole movie reminded me of my senior year. Just fun, fun, fun!! This one was by far my favorite out of the 3. The songs were good and so were the stage set ups.
A few funny highlights about the night:
* The search helicopter flew over the drive-ins and shined his lights on our screen. Great we are sitting outside while they are looking for the bad guys.
* There was a black family sitting next to us. The mom was all in to the movie. She was up singing and dancing to all the songs. She wasn't a big fan of Troy Bolton's dad though. She said, "I am so tired of that boy!" and you know there little attitude they throw in the mix. At the very end she was saying how she was all bummed that this would probably be the last one. Did she really take her kids to see the movie or did she bring her kids along so she could go to the movie?!?!

The KindleFor those of you who watch Opera you probably already know what this is. It is a Kindle. It is a wireless library. You download books from Amazon for 1/2 price wireless to this device and you just read the books page by page off of it. No need for a computer. No need for a wi-fi signal. No need to go to the book store again. For those who read A LOT like my mom it would be a great Christmas gift.

An Eventful Weekend
Friday: Did some crafts. Went for an interview at a bridal shop. Ran by the beauty supply store. Did a waxing party at the house. Got the call I was hired at the bridal shop will start training on Monday. Dyed Tauni's eyebrows. Josh and I went to our friend Mike's. Went to dinner and called it a night.

Saturday: Went to Gilcrease Orchard with my family, Aunt Laurie, and the Cooks. It was a complete waste. It was all picked over and it took us 45 minutes to get out.Went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. Got home. Cut some wood for the craft show. Did a clients hair. Went to Josh's to watch the Texas game and eat dinner. Played bingo and went bowling with Chris and Tauni. No winners at Bingo but Josh and Chris won a game of bowling. That called it a day!

Sunday: Took pictures of my Aunt and her dog for Christmas. Who would have know animals are just as hard to photograph as kids. Met the Cooks and the twins at the pumpkin patch.
Went to church. Watched sports. Played on the computer. Gave pedicures. Did some waxing. Ate dinner. Watched Tampa Bay win their series. And now am on the computer.

Myth Busters

**You can pop popcorn using your cell phones...MYTH.

They show a video on YouTube proving that it works but we tried today and we got nothing.

**You can peel a hard boil egg with out actually peeling it...TRUE.

You actually blow it out the bottom of the egg. Here are the steps:

1. Cover the eggs with water and boil on low for 12 minutes.

2. Cool eggs by placing them in cold water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and ice. The baking soda raises the pH level and reduces the adherence. If you choose not to use baking soda, be sure to move the eggs into cold water with plenty of ice immediately after boiling.

3. Crack the top of the egg and remove a small piece.

4. Crack the bottom (the wide end) of the egg and remove a small piece.

5. Hold egg in your hand and blow vigorously into narrow end of egg, which will expel it out the wide end.

Just be ready to catch it when it comes out!!!

A Bit of Randomness

*Last Saturday night Josh and I went out with my parent to Fremont Street for dinner and to listen to the bands playing down there. We had a good time but it was a little chilly. Good thing Josh asked me if I wanted to bring a jacket. It started to rain and it was a windy. I like going down there just to watch the freak show. It's kind of funny...sometimes scary.
.
*My Mom, Dad, and I went Sunday to Arts in the Park in Boulder City. I had never been there before but I thought there was a lot of cool things. A little too much art work for me. I like the more crafty stuff. We bought several things including this cute little pumpkin lady to hold our candy.

And apparently tie-dye is back. I have to say though that the guy selling them did pretty cool designs. These are the shirts my parents bought.
I'm not sure how well any of you know my Mom but she love Target and this one was the last one she had so I had to buy it.
Myparents bought me this little picture. I think it is so funny because right now that is what my salon looks like with all the kids screaming and running around.
*I saw Night at Rodanthe. It was a very good movie. I think it is more of a chick flick but a guy might like but may not admit it. My mom and sister read the book first. They said that it was just as good as the book but the ending was ruined because they knew what was going to happen. I don't cry at movies but apparently it is a tear jerker because there was several women that had to leave the theater because they were crying so hard. I would definitely recommend that movie.

*Starting tomorrow I have 3 waxing parties within a week. I am really excited. Hopefully we will have a good turn out at all 3. My Aunt Laurie's was such a success that her friends asked her to host another one. So that is just what we are doing. That will be great if we get just as many women as last time. Here is a little waxing schedule if anyone needs waxing done:
My Mom's- Tomorrow @ 6pm @ my house
Calie's- Monday @ 5pm @ Sandy's house
Aunt Laurie's- Next Friday @ 6pm @ my house

*This will be my first year being apart of the Behind the Picket Fence Craft Boutique. I was going in on it with a friend but she decided that she just didn't have the time. So I will be doing it all by myself. It is coming along though. My house isn't quite as messy as I would have thought. I am a bit of a freak things have to be organized. Everything has a place and it has to be in that place. With not working a lot it is actually a good thing I got this going on because it gives me something to do. We shall see how I do.

*I know I should care about the election because these next 4 years will matter more to me than any other one has but I just can't deal with all of these commercials. Why can't they just say what they think and air those instead of attacking the other running mate? And who am I suppose to believe anyway? It's all politics. I can't wait until after the election and it is all over.

*We have made friendship bread. It is the bread originally made by the Amish. It takes 10 days to make. There is something to do add or do to the mixture each day. Once the 10th day has been done you then pass part of your mixture to 3 other friends. It is yummy bread. So yummy I wasn't able to get a picture of the cooked bread. Here it is in progress.

How Lucky?!?!
Well it is official...Tarin is not the only one, I like the Jonas Brothers also. As much as Tarin shoved them down my throat I have had no choice but to like them. Still they can be too much at times but they have some pretty good songs. Sooooo with that being said...

we will be attending the Jonas Brothers Concert on November 29th.
They announced they were coming at the beginning of this week and tickets went on sale today at 10am. I was on ticket master at 10:10am hoping I wasn't too late. The first request I was denied but I changed around a few things the second time and I got us tickets!! It should be a good time. I can't believe I am going to a Jonas Brothers concert. Am I too old? Should I bring ear plugs to block out all the screaming teens? Or do I act too young? Should we make goofy shirts? Who knows?!?!
