Stuffed French Toast

Last night Tarin and I were watch the Ellen DeGeneres show that she had recorded because the Jonas Brothers were on there. The other guest stars were Paula Deen and her sons. They made Peanut Butter, Banana, Honey Stuffed French Toast. So at 9:00 at night we were off to Albertsons. All we needed was bananas to make them. We get home and start getting everything out to make it and realize we forgot granola. So...at 9:20 at night we were off to Albertsons. All we needed was granola. We get home and start making our gourmet dessert.

It turned out to be really good. They were really rich though. A few bites and that does it. I never would have thought something good could have came from watching the Jonas Brothers!!

A Busy Busy Day!!

Yesterday, Tarin and I left the house at 8:30am. We ran to Target to get the new Jonas Brothers' CD because it came out yesterday and "I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!" (those are Tarin's words).
After that we went to the beauty supply store to return some stuff. And yes we listened to Jonas Brother's all the way there. We then headed to the salon from there. My Aunt and Uncle were in town from California and she asked if she could get an appointment to get her hair done. Of course!! So we gave her a new look that she fell in love with. I am hoping that this will get them to come down more often. (I wish I had a good before picture but I couldn't find one.)
Next on the agenda was TacoBell. Everyone was hungry so we stopped there for some lunch before we went back to the hotel to meet my Uncle and cousin. They stayed at the Excalibur. Those hotel rooms are so nice. For being such an older hotel they really did a good job remodeling. We ate and then starting our long walk to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. We took the tram from hotel to hotel but it seems like it took forever to get through each hotel. Tarin was the only one that had been there before, so the rest of us were really excited to go through it. We all really enjoyed it. There was a lot of neat sea creatures.
This is Aunt Theresa, Uncle Dick, Jordan, and Garrett.
(all our my cousins but I call them aunt and uncle and the 2 kids are their grandkids)
After Aunt Theresa spent 20 minutes in the gift shop, we were on our way back. It was almost 4 and I was to be at Jodie's at 5:30 for the wax party. Finally got back to the hotel, dropped my cousins and Tarin off at my house, grabbed a few extra things and was off to Jodie's. I was a little nervous for the party. I was a little stressed because I wanted everything to go just right. After only being there for 15 minutes maybe I spilled the wax pot....All over the counter, down the cabinet, and on the kitchen rug. Matt was still home and I thought he was going to kill me because he couldn't get it off the cabinet. I told him I know trick and I PROMISE I will get it off. (by the end of the night no wax was in sight) People started arriving and signed up for the services and I just went down the list one by one as they ate and mingled. It was a great idea!! (thanks Jodie for thinking of it) Aunt Sandy won the "Most Adventurous Waxer" award. She was up for anything. Everyone seemed to love it and I hope to do it again soon!! (6 weeks right Jodie? ha ha) After that I picked up Josh for the gym. Worked out, came home, took a shower, and went to bed. And that's the end of that!!

My New Eyelashes

For my birthday, my Aunt Kari took me to get eyelash extensions. I told her about these a while ago and we have just put it off until now. She also got hers done and after seeing the results we wondered why we waited so long. They are just amazing. For a whole set it cost $125 and you get them filled for $30 every 2-4 weeks depending on your activity. It sounds like a lot of money but it is worth every penny!! The before and after pictures I took are with no make up at all. I finally don't have blonde eyelashes anymore. YEAH!! Thanks again Aunt Kari for my birthday present. I love them.

A Few Fun Things

White Chocolate Grill: I went there for the first time yesterday with a friend of mine. It was sooooo good! I had a Cajun Chicken Sandwich that was to die for. Our server was awesome and the atmosphere was really classy. The only complaint is that it is kind of expensive, but it is worth the price.

The Cupcakery: I also went there for the first time yesterday as well. They are the cutest cupcakes I have ever seen. The cupcakes were made fresh for us, so mine was a warm strawberry shortcake one and hers was a chilled red velvet one. I was so impressed that the frosting was made of real strawberries. I could only take 2 bites because it was so rich and also because I had just ate dinner so I was pretty full. Next time I want to get the Mound of Joy (it's just like an almond joy)

You, Me, We & Wax: I have been getting ready for Jodie's waxing party that she is hosting next week. I am really excited about it. It is going to be a good time. A little story about going to the beauty supply store: Yesterday I went to the store with my list in hand to get the supplies I needed for the party. They were out of everything. So I am trying to decided what to get in place of it. As I am standing there, this older lady comes up and asks me if I know what I am looking for. I told her I know what I am looking for but they are out of everything I need. Not knowing what I needed or what I needed it for this complete stranger, not an employee let me add, begins to tell about all of the different waxes and what they are used better for and what I should get for this and that. As I am sitting there in shock about how much this lady knows and that she was taking the time out to talk to me, she says "I know you are curious about Brazilians so you should get this kit below." There was only one left and it had everything I needed. The double warmer, all the waxes that I was considering getting, an instructional DVD on how to do Brazilian, the applicators, and strips. As I was looking that the box, the lady said I think that does it and just walks away, out the door, and down the street. Not even into a car or anything. The employee asked me if I knew that lady and I told her no. She said "She walked into the store and went straight to you." I said "That's weird because she talked to me and went straight out the door." So I am not sure what was the purpose of that lady's visit to the store but she helped me with everything I needed. How did she know I wanted more info on a Brazilian?!?! Was she an angel?

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2: I went and saw it today with my sisters. It was very good. I thought it was better than the first one. I have not read any of the books though. I wonder which is better the book or the movie?!?! It is definitely a chick flick!

One Day and One Night in the Mountains

Day: On Saturday morning, my mom, my sister-Kalah, the dog-KC, and the Cook girls (friends of the family) left to meet the guys up at Lee Canyon to camp for the night. They had gone up the night before with my other sister and her friend, Chelsea, to set up everything. When we got up there on Saturday we found out that we didn't have a campsite on the campground. It was off of this little road. There were other people set up with their tents along this road but not many. It was not in the campground so it was free to stay the night. Because it was free though we had to go to the bathroom in the woods and brush our teeth with a water bottle instead of a sink. It was definitely an experience. It was fun though. After unloading the stuff we brought up, we went to Festival in the Pines. It was up at the ski resort. They had the ski lift running, several booths set up, a band playing, and a BBQ. My sisters, Chelsea, and the Cook girls went on the ski lift. You would not catch me dead on that thing especially after watching them and witnessing the machine breaking down while they were on it. No Thanks!! After that we went back to the site and had carne asada fajitas. They were soooo good. We then took naps, played games, listened to i-pods, read books/magazine, went on a walk, took pictures, and just hung out until dinner time. We cooked up hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. After dinner, we made homemade ice cream in this ball. You put all of the ingredients in it and the roll it around for 10 minutes. It was fun and delicious. We also made s'mores over the gas stove to go with our ice cream. We convinced Tarin and her friend to go Sniper hunting. That was possibly the funniest part of the trip. They were very mad at us. After the kids went to bed we played Catch Phrase. It was a lot of fun. A good family game. Then we attempted to go to bed.

Night: I slept in my car because we didn't have enough tents due to a miscommunication. What I thought would have not been that bad of an idea turned out to be a horrible idea. I was only in the car for 10 minutes and there was a knock on my window. I freaked out. I couldn't see out because of the tint on my windows and I was all by myself. Then a phone lite up and I recognized my mom's contacts. I opened the door for my mom and she said "I can't sleep, can I come in and read?" So we sat in there. Literally just sat wide awake. After a couple hours I started dozing off as my mom opened the door. She was leaving because she couldn't sit in there any longer. After she left I was wide awake again. I decided to get out and go look for my mom. Both of us went back to my car and sat again only for a minute though. We heard the dog, who was suppose to be in the tent with my sisters. She was let out to go to the bathroom. During the day she didn't need a leash because she stayed close and would come when we called her. But of course...she goes out at night and she doesn't come back. We can't really yell because everyone is sleeping. SO my mom, my sisters, and I are walking around with flash lights at 2:00am in the woods looking for our dog. Finally she came back, ate, and drank some water. She didn't want to go in the tent again but wanted in my car. I am a bit of a clean freak so I was having a bit of an anxiety attack knowing she was so dirty and in my car. My mom in the passengers seat, me in the drivers seat, and the dog in the back, we all tried to fall asleep. On and off all night until the sun was finally coming up. Finally!!

We were all up by 6:30. We started cleaning up and getting things ready to go as Joe cooked us some breakfast. There is nothing like the smell of breakfast in the woods in the early morning. It smelled so good. After eating we finished packing up and headed home. We had a lot of fun. I hope to do it again soon before it starts to snow up there. One thing I will personally bring next time no matter what is said is a TENT.

I have this thing with wild life. It just amazes me how all this stuff just grows by its self and we strive to have yards. The wild life was just so beautiful.
