Monday:
Tarin and I headed to the Meadows Mall to exchange my mom's new shorts for a different. We didn't walk out with the right size but I walked out with a new dress. It was only $20. Then we went to the beauty supply store to restock the color I had used. I dread getting the total. It always seems to be over a $100 every time. We headed over to the salon so I could cut my grandparents hair. We are closed on Mondays to allow the cleaning crew to come in but since I rent I work whenever. The only problem with working on Monday is your station doesn't get cleaned...leaving it for me to do the next day. After that we went to Target to buy the Jonas Brother's CD for Tarin. Came home in just enough time to leave. My mom and I ran to Target (on the other side of town) until it was time to drop me off at Josh's work. Josh and I went to his softball game. It was a little hot but worth it. They won both games. We were hungry after so we stopped at Denny's. I believe we were the only white and English speaking people there. Survived that and headed home.
Tuesday:
Tarin and I went to the Galleria mall to return my mom's shorts for the final time and to return my swim suit I bought on line from Victoria's Secret. I swear I heard some where that I could return it to the store but that was not allowed. So we walked out of the mall with no shorts and my bathing suit. We dropped my suit of at UPS on the way home. When we got home we watched Ellen and Opera and then took a nap. Ordered another bathing suit that was on sale, ate dinner, and then headed over to Josh's house to pick him up for the gym. BUT we didn't end up going because we were being lazy. Hung out there for a little while until I started to roast due to their air problems. (I did feel sorry for you guys) Headed home and went to bed.
Wednesday:
I went to work. Changed my client's look completely. I wish I had taken pictures because I turned out so good. She loved it. Left work and ran by both banks. Headed home, picked up Tarin (my lil' sidekick) and we went to Sonic for a 99 cent milkshake. We went back home, ate dinner, watched TV, and played a game with my mom and sister until Josh got home. I then attempted to go pick him up again so we could go to the gym. We DID make it to the gym that night. After a good work out, I dropped Josh off and headed home.
Thursday:
My day started with a call from Josh. He had forgot his work keys at home and needed me to bring them to him at lunch. So I managed to get my nails done, go to the gym, run by his house to get his keys, disappointed Jen and Grace as they came to the door hoping I was the air conditioning guy, ran home, got ready for the day, and made it to Josh's work just in time. We went to Burger King to eat, dropped him back off at work, and I headed to work. I worked for a couple hours and then left to pick up Grace from Jake's game because we were going to go swimming at my aunt's house. Got to the game and Mason wanted to go too so I gathered the kids and we were on our way to my house. I quickly got my bathing suit and towels and we all got back in the car. We stopped at McDonald's on the way for some dinner. Got to my aunts and hopped into the pool! Grace went down the water slide. She was so proud she did it but she didn't want to do it again. We stayed for a little while, dried off, and drove home. Dropped the kids off and went home.
Friday:
I went to work. My aunt and I had fun playing around with her hair. She was going to Bette Midler that night and wanted her hair to look cute. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of that either. Went home, picked up Tarin, and went to Sonic for 99 cent milkshakes (again). Went home and started a movie just as my dad decided to go out to dinner. We all piled into the car and headed over to Macayo's. We met my aunt and uncle there. I just ate chips though because I just had a milkshake and I was full. Left there and went home. Josh called when he got off and he was hungry soooo I went to Olive Garden with him. I just had bread sticks and I drink because I just had at chips. We then went back to my house to hang out. I attempted to put on false eyelashes but it was just not working for me. I got my family up to the table to play Loaded Questions. I even managed to get my uncle to play. I had never played a board game with him until that night. After the game, we watched a little TV and then everyone left. Off to bed I went.
Saturday:
I went to work. ( I am very grateful I could write went to work 4 days in a row) Did my Aunt LeAnn's hair. My mom and Aunt Laurie met us at the salon so the 4 of us could go to lunch. I was able to convince them to go to Cafe Rio. They all loved it!! Left my mom and Aunt LeAnn and Laurie and I went to back to the salon to do her hair. All of my clients' hair turned out great. After work, I came home a found a package for me from Euphoria Institute. It was my diploma. Glad I didn't need that to get my license. Took a nap. I woke up and watched Devil Wears Prada. Got a phone call from Josh saying that he was awake and we were going to hang out over there tonight. Headed over there to find him asleep. He had called me but was still half way asleep. So I woke him up. We decided to order pizza and rent a couple movies. Josh got ready, ordered the pizza, and then we went to the Blockbuster. We rented Welcome Home Rosco Jenkins and The Heartbreak Kid. We then picked up the pizza and went back to his house. We ate pizza and watched Rosco Jenkins with Dave. After the movie I hung around for a little while and then headed home.
Sunday:
Josh picked me up to go to breakfast and then to the Hair Convention that was in town. First we went to Boulder Station to go to the buffet but they were remodeling it so we decided to go over to Sam's Town to that buffet. When we got there the line was outrageous so we ended up at the little cafe. Breakfast ended up to be cheap but it was not that great of food. I guess you get what you pay for. We left there and were off to the convention. Since there was no parking last year we parked at Sahara and took the monorail to the convention center. I love hair conventions. There are so many booths, sales, shows, and things to try. I bought new shears and got thinning shears for free along with a bag and a hat. I also bought capes, press on eyeshadow (take a look at it on tyrashow.com), and a weaving comb. I saved a total of...$271 at the convention. Came home watched some TV, put some burgers on the grill, while we ran to Josh's to get the movies we rented. Got home just in time for dinner and we watched The Heartbreak Kid. It was a pretty funny movie. After the movie, we watch a couple Family Matters episodes and then Josh went home. Off to bed I went.

It's very hard to avoid this movie because of all the promoting there was for it. It was suppose to be the next High School Musical. And it was!! The movie was good the FIRST time I watched it. The soundtrack was good the FIRST time I listened to it but now that I have watched it not 1, not 2, but 6 times it's not that great. My sister, Tarin is obsessed with everything involving this movie. The guy, one of the Jonas Brothers, the movie, the soundtrack, the website, the Jonas Brothers CD, and anything else possibly out there involving this movie!! She posted comments on my blog but it was signed CAMP ROCKS!! We played hang man and every puzzle was CAMP ROCK or something that was associated with it. Hopefully this obsession will wear off soon. Or will it not?? It's almost been a week! (Don't worry I still love you Tarin!!)

It is 3:30 in the morning and I have to be up in less than 4 hours for work. I am really tired but mind seems to be going a 100 mph. I am thinking about things I need to do, things I want to do, things I can't do, which technique to use tomorrow on my clients hair (the whole work smarter not harder thought process), things I said, things I should have said, and anything else that seems to come up in thought. This really stinks.

What I expected to be a fun day at the tunnels turned into one heck of an adventure. I attempted to follow Jodie's directions but I definitely failed at that. We ended up walking 1.5 miles the wrong way and then 1.5 miles back to our starting point. After texting Josh for Jodie's number, calling her cell but no answer, calling Jen to see if she has ever been to the tunnels but no luck there, got Jodie's house number from Jen, called but no answer, called Uncle Nick since he grew up in Boulder City, was told I was in the wrong spot and he gave me directions, Jodie called back and come to find out we were suppose to go toward the right but went to the left. It wasn't too bad of a walk because it was still pretty cool outside, our water was cold, and we had energy. That trip: 3 miles and 6,000 steps. (I know this because of my phone. It keeps track of my steps and distance.)
After hanging up with Jodie I tried to find the trail she was talking about but I just couldn't. Soooo, we decided to try Uncle Nick's. Still couldn't find where he was telling us to go, went back to look for Jodie's trail again but...No such luck. I had to get these kids to the tunnels because they were all yelling at me claiming I was lying and there were no such tunnels. So we walked into the casino we parked at to see if they knew where the heck this trail was. The little old man in the souvenir shop was so nice. He gave me a pen and paper to write down directions as he told me. Thanked the old man and left with directions in hand. 3rd times a charm, right?? Jodie, apparently you know a secret way because no one else knew that way. ha ha. You're pretty sneaky!
So next, we drove according to our directions and ended up just where the little old man told me we would. (Yes, we are finally on the right track, I think??) Parked in the parking lot, checked the information board, saw it said 1 mile to 1st tunnel, and we started our journey up the trail. It starts to get very hot outside, our water is boiling hot now, and there is no sign of any tunnels. When I take a look at my phone to see we have now walked over 1 mile I couldn't believe it. OH MY GOSH!! Are you kidding me? The 2 little boys that came with Tarin and I were begging to stop when I told them the news. I promised them that if we curved around right here and there were no tunnels we will turn around. Much to my surprise there were tunnels after tunnels. We only got to the first tunnel and sat. We didn't need to see anymore. ha ha. Took some pictures, sat there for a little while, and then got brave enough to head back down. The little boy, Evan, could barely keep up by then and is older brother, Owen, was coughing up a lung. I was just praying that we would get back safely with out any one passing out, throwing up, or simply giving up. A mile and a half later we were in the car again. Thank you God!! That trip: 3 miles and 6,000 steps. (Notice they are ONLY smiling because we are FINALLY in the tunnel)
We went to Pit Stop, a really good hamburger joint there in Boulder City, to get something to drink and eat. Over lunch we decided that you couldn't pay us to do that again unless it is 30-40 degrees cooler or Jodie's way is shorter. The tunnels were pretty cool but not worth the exhaustion. I am now sitting under the fan, in my house with the air conditioner on, savoring every minute.
Total trip: 6 miles and 12,000 steps in 110 degree heat. Yuck!!Sunday, June 15, 2008
Last Wednesday, I went up to Spring Mountain Ranch to see the Beauty and the Beast play with my family (even my dad was a trooper), my Aunt Tami and my cousin Brandi, Shannon, Emily, and Cassidy(good friends of the family), and Jen, Mason, Grace, and Becky (practically my family). We had quite the group. The outdoor theater was really neat. Everyone just brings blankets and dinner and watches the show. We found out that you must get there early to get a good seat, that in June it will be freezing so bring warmer clothes, and your bottom will start to hurt about 1/2 way through the show. Beauty and the Beast was my favorite movie when I was little and I loved the play just as much. They did an awesome job with the make-up on the Beast and the stage transformations. I would love to see another play out there.

On Saturday, my whole family went over to my Aunt Tami's house to enjoy the pool. Gotta love the first swim of the summer. The pool was a ton of fun. It had a water slide, mini cliffs, and a swim up table. I think this will be the new location for family functions. We BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs and enjoyed visiting. It was really nice to hang out with my family because between every ones schedules we don't get to do it often.

Last Friday my friend, Kayla, and I went to the Kenny Chesney concert. A family friend works at the MGM so we bought the cheap seats and he moved us up to the 2nd row. We had shirts made. They were cute but not worth the $40 we paid for them. I could have made them myself for less than that. LeAnn Rimes was his opening act. I am not a big fan of her but she was great in concert. Kenny Chesney played for a little over 2 hours and sang only 3 slow songs maybe 4. He also had Uncle Kracker come out and sing with him. Together they sang "When the Sun Goes Down", 2 of Krackers hit songs, and "Cowboy" by Kid Rock. Surprisingly, that section of the concert was one of the best parts. It happened to be Uncle Kracker's birthday so we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. The concert was a great. Everyone who performed was great. Here are some pictures:
