I Love My Job

It is only my 2nd day in the salon but I am loving it. I am having so much fun. Moving into the salon and actually being on my own is sooooo much better than school. The girls I work with are friendly and the salon manager is really easy going. There is a lady that has been doing hair for 26 years a few stations down from me. She has 200 client, an assistant, a laptop with a program for all of her appointment, and a credit card machine because she brings in so much money. I'm not sure if I want to be that busy one day but I know that she knows a lot so I plan on watching her for new techniques and stuff when I don't have clients.

Today I gave 2 little girls a little makeover. Both of them had very long hair and wanted to donate it to Locks of Love. It is an organization were hair is donated and wigs are made for cancer patients. It was so much fun. Both were so excited that they got to help another little girl. Here are some before and afters.

The one on the left, her patience was running low so we didn't really style it much. The one on the right, she was just so excited and sat there for as long as I needed her too. Both were so much fun to do.
*Thanks Jamie for my new header. I love it!!
My Station

This is my station. They will be putting a picture or something over that electrical box. When I picked the station I didn't know that it was going to be there.

This a water feature that falls from the ceiling into that pond thing. The shampoo bowls go around that and our color bar is behind there.

A Fun Filled Saturday

Yesterday I...
  • Moved into my salon. FINALLY!! It is beautiful. I'll post some pictures of it next week. I saw 3 clients yesterday, My mom, a patient from the dental office, and Josh. All went very well. I worked 9 to 3 and that's it. No one questioned me leaving that early or only working a 6 hour day. I love being my own boss!
  • Went to Josh's company picnic. It was a huge pot luck. A lot of good food. They had an inflated boxing ring with huge boxing gloves. Josh and our friend Mike went at it. They got tired really fast. It was fun to watch though. I wish I had a camera. The park is right next to the bank so the guys played basketball. There was the finals going on to a horse shoe tournament the bank had put together. Water balloon volleyball. Face Painting. A balloon lady who was amazing. She made Josh a spider-man hat to go along with the superhero theme he had going on with his captain america shirt he was wearing. Spider-man had a web coming out of his hand. It was pretty cool. She also made a balloon person of Mike. She even had a fohawk on this balloon person. I was impressed.
  • Went to the 51's game with my family. I have to say I got extremely spoiled last weekend attending 2 major league baseball games. This was nothing. People don't go to the 51's game to watch the game. There were people up and down the entire time. A ton of screaming kids. A fight. Not that there is not any of those at a MLB game but it probably wasn't even over the game. I still had fun though. I told Josh that I was glad I got to go to a game with him that he was actually rooting for the home team because at the Angels game all the rally chants and things were against the Mariners so we couldn't do them ha ha! The 51's won though by a lot. It was cheap entertainment and it was fun.

Check It Out...

On the right I put a link to the salon I'll be working at. The expansion is not on the sight and that is where I will be working but it still has the same theme trough out. I'm so excited. I can't wait to start already. I absolutely hate construction. It has been postponed since last Monday. It was suppose to be done this afternoon but its already the afternoon and still no phone call. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

Yee Haw!

So here are the picture of the Chuck Wicks concert I went to. I went with my friend Kayla and her sister for her birthday. It was a really quick but good concert. If you don't know who he is he sings "Stealing Cinderella". And YES I was really that close. ha ha!!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

This weekend Josh, Eric and I all drove to Anaheim to see the Mariners play. Yes, we had to settle for Anaheim because Seattle was too expensive for me to pull off. With that being said we were definitely sore thumbs in the crowd. More so the first game than the second. We drove down late Friday night because I went to the Chuck Wicks' concert that night. (I'll post pictures of that when I get them) We finally made it to Anaheim early Saturday morning after a lot of CDs and a lot of random conversations. That day we went to the mall to find a Mariners hat but every time we walked into a sports store it was just filled with Angels stuff. Imagine that. We did happen to find one though. We took a cab to the game that night. I have came to realize, after only 3 cab rides now in my entire life, that no 2 cab rides will be the same. Both games we had great seats but these ones were just a lot closer. These seats happened to be right behind another few Mariners fans so that was cool to be able cheer with them when they scored their 1 run for the game. Although the Mariners lost it was still a good time.
We went to this nasty Mexican restaurant after the game for dinner but didn't eat much. Went back to the hotel, got in the jacuzzi for a little bit, went to Downtown Disney (the ESPN Zone), went to Denny's to eat since that was the only restaurant open past 12:00, went back to the hotel and passed out. Sunday we woke up late so unfortunately we didn't make it to the game early like Josh had hoped to watch batting practice. Our seats were pretty good this game too. We were just in the out field but almost right down center field. The weather was a lot better for this game too. So good that we all got our share of a sunburn. If you ask Josh though he would probably say that he didn't get burnt but that he got tan.
I have to say this game was a lot more fun than Saturdays. Even a little intense towards the end. But in the end the Mariners WON. I was very happy that I didn't waste my money to go all the way there to see them lose. I think Josh was very happy too.
Right after the game we left. I think I have came to realize that I really enjoy baseball games. It was so laid back and so entertaining. We had a great time. It was a lot of fun. I am pretty sure Josh enjoyed his birthday present. This was the least I could do to make up for all the other gifts I gave him HA HA!

Happy 21st Birthday Josh!!

He will probably kill me for posting this but a birthday only comes once a year
and 21 is a big year.

I got him and his friend, Eric, tickets to the Seattle Mariners game for both Saturday night and Sundays game. They are playing in Anaheim so we will be leaving Friday night for the weekend. It's going to be a lot of fun!! (I'll post pictures of the fun when we get back)

Happy Birthday Josh!!
Little Twin Make-Overs

When my twin nieces, Cortney and Camryn, were in town last weekend and only Cortney wanted her haircut. She wanted to cut it really short. The Camryn was very sad about this because she was scared that they wouldn't look the same anymore, but Cortney on the other had didn't care because she hates looking the same as her sister. I reassured that they would and snipped off her sisters hair. Once we were finished Cortney was so excited she went to show her sister and next thing you know she wanted it cut like that too. Needless to say Cortney was not very happy with this but both of them looked so cute.

FINALLY!!!

I finally got my license! It was probably the longest week ever. I am sooooo excited. I signed with Ritual Salon and Spa this past Friday. They are in the middle of expanding and the expansion will be done the 2nd week in April. I am praying it will be done then but I know how construction works. The dental office is really starting to wear on me. The salon is on Eastern between Serene and Silverado Ranch next to White Chocolate Grill. It is in an awesome location so that will help me build my clientele. I will be doing hair and waxing. Sorry no pedicures ha ha! I am really excited to finally start. It could not come any sooner.
Better Late than Never!

Ok so my Aunt has been asking to see these pictures and I am just now getting to them. On Easter we went to church, went to my grandparents house for a BBQ and some games, and then I went and spent some time at Josh's grandparents house. There wasn't a lot going on it was just a really laid back day. Here are some pictures I took:
