The Twins!

I finally got over to see the twins on Monday. They looked so cute dressed in their little Christmas outfits. Here are a few pictures.

I made these letters for them.

Late Night Bang!!

This is a funny Christmas story that I thought I would share. So I had just crawled into bed the other night and I was so tired. As I was laying there I was looking at my tree. All of a sudden I thought I was seeing it fall but I knew it was in a tree stand so I doubted that it was. Plus I figured it was just me seeing things since I was so tired. I blinked and looked at it again. It seemed to still be falling. Another blink and then I saw it was really falling over. I hopped out of bed, ran for the tree, and just barely missed it. All decorated and everything it was laying on the floor. I picked up the tree, leaned it against the window, and left all the decor strung all over the floor. I was just too tired. Needless to say it wasn't as funny then as it is now.

Christmas Spirit!!

What gets me in the Christmas mood more than anything is the smell of pine and that's just what I smelled today. I came home from school today to a surprise in my bedroom....A BIG Christmas tree (courtesy of Josh). He always seems to sneak a tree into my bedroom every year. I just come home one day and there is a tree in my room. I wasn't sure if I would be getting one this year due to the big Christmas present he bought himself (a new truck) but I was lucky once again. It started 2 years ago when both of us wanted a real tree but neither of our parents liked the thought of a real tree so he got us our very own! I bought new decorations for it this year. At Target, they have a series of bright colorful decorations and that is the theme I went with this year. Last year was a bit of everything because Josh doesn't liked the themed trees but the first year it was the country cabin stuff from Target. This year though it is really cute. I just LOVE it!! (and the picture really doesn't do it justice.)

Tonight I took my little sister and her friend Sydni to the cactus garden at the chocolate factory. It was really fun to see all the lights and watch the little concert they had going on. It was 5 11 year-old girls and they called themselves Broadway Divas. They sang about 9 different Christmas carols. All of them were so cute and had the most amazing voices for 11 year-olds.
TarinSydni

We got to see the factory as well. Of course the machines weren't running or anything but there was a lot of cool sculptures displayed. All of them were made from 100% chocolate. This one was my favorite.
So needless to say tonight was a good night, minus I didn't get to go to Josh's little family get together they have every year at this time because I had already made plans, but there will be more I'm sure. The Christmas countdown is definitely on. Only 10 more days to go!!!!

I didn't know Euphoria Institute could be fun!

So I actually had a lot of fun at school on Wednesday. (It has been a very long time since I have had fun at that place. ) On Tuesday we were told to bring a Christmas decoration for tomorrows activity but we were not told what we were going to do with it so I brought a bow. When we got to school the next day they told us we were to incorporate our decor into an up do. (Now if I would have known that I would have brought something a little more interesting.) When we were all done, keep in mind no one really puts effort into something when it is on a mannequin, they told us that all the heads were being judged. The entire school came to judge them. That was a lot of fun but the best part of the day was decorating our little Charlie Brown Christmas tree. One of the girls found it outside and as a class we decorated it with all of our extra decorations. It's kind of a stupid idea but we had a lot of fun decorating our class Christmas tree. ha ha! These are some of the pictures from the day.

Christmas Mood!

So I've been done with my Christmas shopping pretty much since the day after thanksgiving so I haven't really felt in the Christmas mood until these past few days. And this is why:
  1. My Aunt and Uncle came in from California. They always come the weekend of the rodeo. With them they bring a Christmas present (gotta love presents) and the best candies ever. They only make them in Bakersfield so my mom and I wait patiently all year to get some.
  2. Josh and I went to the live nativity last night. It was the same as last years except for the cast of the show. Our friend Chris was a shepherd in it this year. His dad was also in it. We went to support him even though it was very cold outside. But what is winter without coats and gloves.
  3. Josh's Christmas party was tonight. I had a lot of fun there too. We got to dress up (or at least I did, Josh always wears a shirt and a tie so this was like his everyday clothes for him). It was at the Revere Country Club in Anthem. We bought A LOT of raffle tickets but apparently not enough tho because we didn't win a darn thing. We split the tickets so we both had 24. I put 2 of my tickets in a box to win a scrapbook kit, 2 into win a $100 gift card to Target, and the rest all 20 of them into the box to when a trip to Disneyland. But no such luck :(

This is what make Christmas my favorite holiday. You get to go to fun little events that you normally don't. And you can always count on dressing up and enjoying a night out. You gotta love Christmas!!!

What I've Been Up To...

Well I have been very busy so I haven't had time to update in a while but this is what I've been up to...

  • Have welcomed 2 new baby cousins in to the world. Hadyen Elizabeth (girl) and Kaden Cole (boy). They were born 7 weeks early and both weighed under 4 pounds. Both are still in the hospital but we are able to go see them still. Hopefully they will be home before Christmas.
  • Had a great thanksgiving. Enjoyed lots of turkey with all of my family. Even my sister came down from college.
  • My brother came into town for the thanksgiving weekend. I got to see my niece and meet my future nieces and nephew. My brother is getting married the last week in December and his fiance has 2 twin girls and a son. (needless to say between the twins and the nieces and nephew my family has grown a lot since the last update)
  • Josh and I went out shopping the day after Thanksgiving. We usually go but this year we decided to go to Best Buy at 5 am for the opening. Not to shop though just to see the crazy people that stood in the line all night. By the time we got to Target we decided to was too cold to wait and that we were hungry so we went and got breakfast and then continue shopping.
  • School is still dragging. I have came to the conclusion that this school is not all that it was cracked up to be when I went on my initial tour. Very unorganized and the entire staff has changed since I have been there. So heads up...anyone thinking about attending Euphoria Institute don't go to Green Valley campus. Who knows the other locations may be better.
  • Enjoying the Christmas season. I love Christmas. I wish it could last longer. I love the lights, gifts, shopping, family get together, and the events put on around town. My favorite is the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village.
  • Today I decorated my station at school with lights, garland, and little tree. I'll post a picture later. It is very simple but still cute.

...And that's what I've been to.

FYI

I was on barnesandnoble.com tonight looking for some books that I am going to put on my christmas list and I found out that it cost the exact same price (including shipping) as it does buying it in the store. Online they offer a 30% discount off the regular price of the book and that is about how much shipping adds up to be making it really close to the same price. I figured this would help those who hate going out with the crowds during the holidays or just dont have time to make it to the bookstore in the mist of everything else and would rather it come right to your door step.

Just An Update!

I haven't blogged in a while so I figured I would give an update on what's been going on starting back from Halloween.
  • Halloween was not as fun as it used to be. I loved seeing the little kids all dressed up, eating the candy that I was suppose to be passing out, and eating my mom's famous homemade mac 'n' cheese (a Halloween tradition).
  • Held a cut-a-thon on the 1st of the month.
  • Tried going to the movies both weekends but haven't had much luck there.
  • Went to a juice tasting party. The juice was called Mona Via. It was made of 16 different juices and is suppose to be the best thing for you. I didn't like the taste though. It was healthy and I didn't like it. Imagine that?
  • Have gone to the gym. Probably only once though since my last post. I'm not as disciplined as Josh.
  • Got my hair colored and cut. Love the color. The cuts a little short but the ends really needed to be cut and its just hair it will grow back.
  • Meet with the registar at my school. Found out my graduation date is February 19th. I am able to make up a total of 64 hours though. After those are made up my graduation date will be February 7th. It couldn't come any sooner. The sooner I graduate the sooner I get to go to Disneyland. (that is my graduation gift from my parents!!)
  • I have had pretty much all my clients not show up or cancel within the past 2 weeks. I finally had a good turn out yesterday. These 2 clients were 2 of the best I have had since I've been in school. Made $35 in tips and they were just so much fun to talk to and hang out with. And better yet...their hair turned out good!!
  • Went to a jewelry party. I wish I was rich because I would have bought some stuff. The line was really expensive. The host had some really good food though.
  • Went bowling with Jeff and Amber. Josh beat me the first game and I was just warming up that round to win the second.

Besides all this it has just been school and work and that is all!!

And the MVP goes to...

...My sister, Kalah.

Just wanted to tell her congratulations on completing her first season of college soccer. She is up in Carson City on a soccer scholarship to Western Nevada College. She had an awesome season. She had her name in the city newspaper a few times acknowledging her talent playing every position possible. They lost the regional championship game yesterday to Idaho but still made out for a good season.

Today I...

*Woke up

* Made candy sushi (a Rachel Ray recipe)

*Went over to my grandparents house for a birthday party and pumpkin carving

(Happy Birthday Grandpa!! )

(Brandi, Tarin, Ryan, and Sabrina)

(Hard Core Pumpkin Carvers)

(Our finished products. Mine is the one with the hair. I have to fix it though.)

*Watched my Grandma feed her birds

(I couldn't believe how many regulars she had)

*Went to Target to buy Scene It Squabble (it's a game)

*Went to the Sedillo's house for a family game night (it was the 1st time we had combined the 2 families just for fun...we had a good time...hope to do it again!!)

*Came home and am going to go to bed

WE MISSED YOU TODAY KALAH!!

Act 2 of KC The Human Dog

A few days ago I was in the bathroom getting ready for school and when I got back to my room this is what I saw. My dog had got on my bed, climbed underneath the sheets, and laid her head down on my pillow. For those of you who don't know, my dog is not allowed on my bed because of the dog hair. KC knows she is not allowed on my bed too but apparently she thought she would be funny and pull a quick one since I wasn't watching. I'm telling you this dog is something else!

My New "Night"light

My mom went on a shopping spree and bought me the coolest little night light. It has a little light built in so it's not replaceable but when it gets hot it makes the water and glitter in the flask boil. It's so cute because it looks as if the witch is cooking up something in her little cauldron. I just love it!! I thought it was funny that it's called a "night"light but it can't be kept on over night due to the boiling water. Why is it called a nightlight then?!?

Homemade Pretzels

My little sister, Tarin, and I decided to be little Betty Crockers on Sunday. I have been dying to make these pretzels ever since a girl in my class brought them in for the potluck. They were so much fun to make. Tarin was so amazed that the dough was rising. She just couldn't get over that it doubled in size. We had to roll the dough into long strips and then fold them into little pretzel shapes. I wanted to make the Mickey Mouse ones like at Disneyland but I couldn't exactly figure that one out. We then had to dip them in boiling water which caused them to expand even more then put them in the oven to make them golden brown. I don't know if anyone else eats their pretzels with cheese but my sisters and I do. While at the store we also bought some cheese and it was too running so then tried Velveeta and that dried up too fast. So needless to say, I still have yet to find the perfect pretzel cheese!! Minus the cheese problem the pretzels turned out good and they were fun to make. I would put the recipe on this posting but I am not patient enough to sit here and type it up or attached it like these hard core bloggers do!! Sorry ladies :(
(they were so good "someone" couldn't keep their hands off until after I snapped the picture)

I finally got around to editing "some" of the pictures from Bridal Vile. It was so beautiful there I can't even begin to tell you. I had a hard time choosing so here are a few.

My Trip To Salt Lake City

So this was probably the quickest but longest trip ever. Let me explain...So I left school early on Saturday because I heard the weather wasn't all that great and a little after Beaver the bad weather hit. It was snowing!!! I have never drove on the snow but I tell you it was the craziest and scariest thing ever. It felt as if I was on that Star Wars ride at Disneyland where you go through the galaxy. The snow was going by so fast that I felt like I was at a stand still. Jaclyn, in the passengers seat, thought this was funny because I was so overwhelmed by all this and reassuring me that it's OK. We finally got to the hotel and went to bed.
Sunday:
We woke up. Began our journey to go to the soccer game, which was the whole reason we drove 6 hours. I was following my mom because she was going to leave straight from the game to go home. While we were driving on the freeway, she hit a brick as she was switching lanes. This brick took a huge chunk out of the rim.

So we both pulled over and I changed my first tire all by myself. (thanks to my dad!) Next we went to find a tire shop that was open on Sundays. There were only 2 places. Neither of them could help for one reason or the other. Our only option was to wait until Monday to get to Discount Tires where the rim was originally bought. After all this, we got to the game only to watch the second half. (Got some great pictures though)

Action Shot

My dad called during the game and told me to hand over the keys to my car since my mom had to be home by tomorrow and I was to take his to Discount the next day. So that's what we did. The rest of the day we went shopping at The Gateway. I love that place.

Checked into our 4 star hotel for just $50 (thanks to Jodie...teaching me about priceline.com bidding). Took the TRAX to the temple square. I couldn't go to SLC and not stop there. It is so peaceful and gorgeous.

Took TRAX back to The Gateway for dinner at Applebee's. Ate. Went back to hotel and crashed.

Monday:

Got up @ 7:30. Checked out. Got to Discount Tires @ 8:15. They told me that there was one rim but of course not at that location and that they would have it delivered sometime that morning. I didn't want to take the car and go somewhere because I wanted to be right there when that rim showed up. Breakfast, 1/2 a movie, doll house accessory shopping, and 3 hours later the rim is delivered and on. All free of charge let me add :) Then we went to Bridal Vile Falls, which is about 10 minutes outside of Orem. Got great photos but that makes for a whole other posting in its self. Was on the road at 1:15 and didn't get home until 8:30 due to construction, traffic, and 2 potty stops.

Overall the trip wasn't too bad. I love Salt Lake. It was so pretty when all the leaves are changing and the air is cold and crisp. I would do it all over again minus the tire issue :)

Haircuts! Haircuts! Haircuts!

Starting tomorrow I am going to be doing guy hair cuts on the first Thursday of every month for $5. I will be doing the haircuts at my house starting @ 5:30. This will allow me to practice and it will be cheaper for the guys who normally drive to the salon and see me!! I apologize now to the girls but since I don't have a hydraulic chair @ home it is hard to keep bent over long enough to cut long hair. I hope this helps some of you out.

Look what I did @ school today!!!

BEFORE

AFTER

This is my friend Chelsea. She wanted a complete new look. I haven't really branched off into the bright fashion color like purple, orange, blue, etc., but today I did. Her hair is a very dark purple(it almost looks black)with some light purple chunky highlights. I am all for being adventerous with others hair, with their permission that is, but when it comes to mine I am really conservative. She ended up loving it. We will see what her boyfriend says about it tomorrow!!
